All hail caffeine. Sometimes we love it, sometimes we curse it. But you can't knock it. Keeps us buzzin'
Oh, heck, ![]() ![]() Everybody should believe in something.
I believe I'll have another coffee! ![]()
You hussy you!
![]() You know, the movie reminds me somehow of 'Logan's Run' and 'A.I.' or even 'Blade Runner'. Just because of the idea of having some kind of programmed 'human'. I'm sure that's as far as the similarity goes mind you. I wonder if a "keep-you-up-all-night" guy is a nightmare during the day? Is "playing-safe" guy a really sweetheart during the day? And can we have one of each and make them both look like Jim? Please. ![]() Everybody should believe in something.

Yeah I agree. I didn´t mean that it´s only interesting mith comedys. What I did mean was that I like to see Jim Carrey in hilarious comedys, but sometimes it I want a comedy with real interesting story. Like "Eternal Sunshine...". I really loved that movie!!! I where jumping, screaming and shouting when they said "and the oscar goes to Charlie Kaufman". Somtimes it´s nice with a hilarious comedy, but I don´t want it to only be a excuse for Jim Carrey to do all his faces. ![]()
The funny thing about non-comedic roles is they tend to demand more of the actors soul to be laid bare on the screen...........Comedians quite often use laughter to hide the real soul........it takes a brave soul to allow itself to be revealed.........perhaps Jimmy is in a good enough place to accept that now........

Couldn´t said it better myself. It demands more from the actor in serious roles. Many people can´t accept Jim in these kind of serious movies. Many of my friends thinkt thate theese movies ar boring. But I want a little bith of both. Independent movies are interesting in contrast to big CGI-movies. ![]()
I would say a dramatic role can cause an actor to lay his soul on the line more. I wouldn't say that everytime. And I'm not just trying to be devil's advocate here, I swear.
I think if you read any Jim interview in relation to the wonderful 'Eternal Sunshine' film, it's clear to see there was an awful lot of him in that performance. His experiences moulded him for that part and gave it gravitas. However, I don't believe that of all actors. Some can just use that old idea of 'acting' and don't personally lay themwselves on the line for their part (remember that old story about what Larry Olivier said to Dustin Hoffman whilst filming 'Marathon Man'....). Just wanted to add that. ![]() I believe we do look into Jim a little bit more each time we see a dramatic role... Everybody should believe in something.

I haven't read all the interviews, but doesn't the thought of this make you want to give him a big hug and say....go ahead and put your head on MY shoulder? "When in doubt, tell the truth."
