Discuss other upcoming Jim Carrey movies (not confirmed/rumours).
by Retard_Messiah » Fri May 27, 2005 9:03 pm
Jim Carrey will not do the role of Silas in Ron Howard´s adaptation of The Da Vinci Code. Paul Bettany is the new name for the role. Not a bad choice in my opinion. Paul Bettany looks like a albino without any makeup. But I can´t deny that it would have been fun to see Jim Carrey in a different role.
here is the kind of sad information:

yep...............i was very pro Carrey for that role.............but i have read Angels and Demons too.....and i have to admit i'm with Quirky now.......i can see him in the role of Langdon........the Code doesn't go so deeply into his character but if you know A and D you can see how Jim would suit it too.............
but as one door closes another opens...................
c'est la vie

Is "The Da Vinci Code" not a book by Dan Brown? I have it here. Very cool, but the one before, "Illuminati" is imho much better.

Maybe "Angels and Demons" is called "Illuminati" where you are.
"The Da Vinci Code" is a book by Dan Brown.

Yeah, true, Angels and Deamons is Illuminati. Didn't know that this is also the name in America for it. I saw it in Spain with this name.
But I don't know if Jim Carrey would have fit in the role of Silas, a psycho killer.

I almost forgot: During my trip in London last year I made photos of sights that were in the book "The Da Vinci Code" (btw its name is in Germany "Sakrileg"). In one picture you can see the Temple Church. This is the place of which Robert Langdon first thought that it would be his aim. But then he found out that it is Westminster Abbey (second picture but I'm sure all of you know it).
You must klick on "Free" in the bottom of the page to see the pictures.

That tree in the shot of Westminster Abbey is beautiful.

Yeah, it's a big one, hehe. I can show more pictures of Temple Church if you want. I only couldn't get in because it does only have open two hours a day or something like that. I wasn't in Westminster abey either by the way because that is very expensive and you aren't allowed to make pictures in there, so I could not make one of Isaac Newton's grave....

That is really really fast!! I'm sort of a slow reader... I haven't finished Da Vinci Code yet... Not even half way, but I think Jim would have made a great Langdon. What would Jim look like with blue eyes and greying black hair? Hmm.......
Paul Bettany is great for the role of Silas~

Nah, Paul Bettany does look like Silas. I've seen him in a few movies and I reckon he's alright. I guess Tom Hanks has taken the role of Langdon, that's pretty appropraite actually I've always liked Tom~

i do think Jim would have made a cracking Silas though................but it's difficult now i guess because Jim's a leading man ........NOT a support act.............and yet for me Silas is THE key role............
but i guess i'm on my own there...............lol
