I´m not sure if I have seen any movies with Tarkovsky. But I really like Kubrick´s "The Shining" and "Clockwork Orange".

have you seen "Eyes Wide Shut" and if you have Did you like it?

I've seen bits of it, but never sat and watched the whole thing properly. It looked average to me, but perhaps I need to see it from start to finish in one go. :?

Hmm, good question. :-k You know I do think the villians often have the best parts in a movie, but I'm struggling to see Jim in that kinda role. Lol.
Of course he could be a Don in a slightly more light-hearted take on a mobster film?

maybe Jim Morrison in a remake of The Doors or play a Jedi in the upcomming Star Wars tv show.
