Discuss older Jim Carrey movies.
by KC8t80 » Sat Oct 28, 2006 4:44 am
I was looking around one the grocery stores yestertday and I saw that they were selling movies for halloween. From what I saw they were selling Secret Window, Class House, Darkness Falls, The Forgotten, Ghostbusters II.......and then The Cable Guy.
I mean that is really odd. What exactly made the Cable Guy scary? The dream sequence is creepy the first couple of times and maybe Jim's character itself, but i can't think of anything else.

Yeah it was, but still, its The Cable Guy! It depends on how you look at it, I see him as a lonely guy who just wants a friend, thats all.

yea but i dont think that's why they were selling it.
i dont see how someone could be scared by Jim Carrey.
isnt it strange though that a movie is attacking watching tv? the message surprised me rather

Yes it was creepier than old school Jim back in 1996 but this is not a horror movie either!
Jim's character trying to kill himself is the thing that surprised me the most about it...

"The Cable Guy" was rather dark (have to admit) and it was kinda
creepy...but I didn't consider it to be scary (except for the phone
converstion when the spider crawled across his face...that really gave
me chills). However, I laugh everytime I watch the scene at Medieval Times. Not my favorite movie, but it was a good one.
