It's interesting to note that the UK is in a virtual state of national mourning. The papers all have David Bowie's face on them and the dates of his life...the TV is full of arts programmes about his life and ALL his albums are in the top spots in the charts, his music is even being played in churches and cathedrals...
st Albans cathedral-
Everyone here was shocked to learn he had been battling liver cancer for 18 months and his death sideblinded the nation. It makes the recording of Blackstar all the more poignant and the video eerie.......interesting to see his musical is called 'Lazarus'.....the irony is in death he is about to have the biggest comeback of his life....

David Bowie and Bing Crosby
singing
The Little Drummer Boy
David mentions his son
when they perform
May Davud dance and sing
With all the stars that have gone b4

If Jesus created the earth as a spirit dorm

Omg David was my childhood crush back in the early 80's. During his bisexual years lol I didn't care what he was tho I didn't care about his messy teeth or his dilated left eye either. He had a great sense of humor and loveable personality even as he got older. I miss him so much

Though I'm past
One hundred thousand miles
I'm feeling very still
And I think my spaceship knows which way to go
Tell my wife I love her very much
SHE KNOWS!

Ground Control to Major Tom
Your circuit's dead,
Is there something wrong?
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you....

Here are some of my favorite songs he did that I have been listening too lately

There are more but I think that's enough videos for now

awesome choices....i admit he was one of my crushes too, he was just so darned creative and different. When i was about 8/9 the track 'Fashion' came out and it was the first record that left a real mark on me, then 'Ashes to Ashes'. my first record was Let's Dance and by then he was a virtual god. :D The film Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence was so special to me back then...i'm an absolute gonner for blonde men so David was gorgeous and of course my teenage idol David Sylvian sung the soundtrack 'Forbidden Colours'......sighs.......we've lost a creative genius and there's not many of then left now...... :(

I had changes, fame, china girl and under pressure on 45s and the album Changes One Bowie on record and The ashes to ashes album on 8 track. Actually the 8 track might have been my brothers I don't know but I used to listen to it. I had a book all about him to that my friends father gave to me. He got it free from the company he worked for.

I don't remember If I saw Mr Lawrence one but I do remember seeing this one

Do you remember the video for boys keep swinging? I only saw it a hand full of times when I was about 9 but I remember thinking What The???? lol especially at the end lol
Now I watch it and laugh.

He was an innovator and a risk taker :D ...it's funny but there's an old saying that British folks seem to come out of the womb knowing all the words, to the songs of the Beatles, well we can add the works of David Bowie to that list. His work is absolutely intertwined
within British culture. His music is EVERYWHERE, from film, stage and TV to adverts and soundovers...he's in our DNA now....... :D

I've had a great music night
Listened to a little of Vynyl Tap with R Backman
Then enjoyed the amazing

Canadian Celtic/RocknRoll Band - MUDMEN

Had a little drama there
with a swooping something or other
it may have been a seagull or pigeon

Do you remember back in the day
when parents would say
"YOUR NAME IS MUD" when u were in trouble

Then listened at Kareoke

'Space Oddity' is one of my all-time faves and the best Bowie out there, imo. :)

In other news, yesterday I discovered the new Bloc Party, having two new members after two left. At first I couldn't stand it, thought it was just noise. Then I kinda got hooked, played it on the stereo, bass full power, and now, ... I'm addicted. :D Loving this.
