Peeps is here! Poor baby is shaking now after the ride in the box...but I think he'll start exploring his cage soon.

I had him out. He's not got enough wing feathers to fly yet. The key is to get him tamed before they come in.

Oh, and I kicked over the bag of feed on my living room carpet. :(

Well....he's got a good start already because he was hand fed. So he's used to humans. But he still does a little tiny hiss when I open the door of the cage.

A bird will bond with you like you are their mate. I had one cockatiel that used to fly following me from room to room.

Peeps got onto my finger, but once I pulled him out of the cage he tried to fly.

You want the bird to get to know and trust you and then they do all kinds of fun stuff. I also believe in letting birds OUT of the cage, but I need to know he's confident enough that he won't freak out.

The more I work with him, the more possible it is that he'll learn...for instance, if I'm sitting in the armchair and say, "C'mon Peeps" and put my hand out, he'll fly to it.

You just never know. If the bird's got the right personality you can train it to do alot.

I'v never had any animals to look after so I dont know how difficult it is to train them. I always thaught it was very hard. But Peeps seems to be responding very well.
