My mood...weeding the valley and staring at the mountain, trying to breathe, and hoping the meeting regarding my contract at work goes well tomorrow....my entire existance is hanging on a wing and a prayer....

Also, wondering if tonight is "Boston Legal" night because I'm diggin' Captain Kirk as Denny Crane.

Well, I had the meeting this morning....and I can take a small gasp of air, thanks for the support and prayers....I have been working for the past 14 months , holding a position for a co-worker who was striken with breast cancer. She has completed her treatment and is ready to come back full time. On the other side of my life I am leaving abusive relationships with my common-law and my mother. I have connected with the agencies needed and am going through the process of obtaining a house for Rielly and I to move to...the catch is that I HAVE TO be employed or I do not qualify for the house.....sooooooo.....gasp....they are cutting my hours back to 5 a week as of August 7th, and my contract will end in September. I get the house on August 18th, hopefully. Then I can deal with assistance after that.....looks like I might squeek by.....on $60 bucks a week for the next month or so.......
Imagine.....

I'm happy it's working out. I, too, am trying to take care of income/assistance. I'm REALLY happy for you.

I wish you lots of luck Laura. I know you will have to struggle with money but I think you will feel a lot of relief when you leave. That s a big step you are taking but a good one.

Laura, that's great you'll get the house and be able to make a new start!
It's not much money to get by on, but then money doesn't buy you happiness.... (but I heard it rents a lot!!!)
I wish you all the luck you need for the next few months.
I was holding the fort alone again today and a huge pile of pending paperwork slowly builds up. Hey ho.
On the plus side, my old university have agreed to confirm my qualification with my new employer (I lost my degree certificate! Doh) so it means, with a bit of luck, I can hand my notice in at work next week!
Everybody should believe in something.
I believe I'll have another coffee!

Again, thanks to all.....I have a feeling that some of my family members and your current employers will all be kicking themselves in the butt after we move on.......
