I just came back from Theater where I watched YES MAN today.I am feeling so nostalgic today seeing the Jim Carrey POSTERS all over the city and in the newspapers. I am really glad and a realeasing of a Jim Movie in theater is like a festival to me. btw Tommy could I post my review here about the movie. That HOW I LIKED IT.
Well at first I will say about Jim. He is more more more handsome and sexier here. I always was having sensation while seeing him.Almost in all scenes he is sexy. He acted very well.He is as funny as usual. I love his tap dance or whatever it is called what he has done at the nightclub.Funniest scene is to me when the old lady tries to seduce him and _____ . I like Zoey, she is soooooo pretty and sweet in the movie. I liked the movie, but I have expected stronger screenplay from them. And also more stuffs in the climax. It is just too short for me, I wanted him more. And also I wanted to see Jim as well dressed at the climax as he is in the rest of the movie. But still I wont mind watching his bare ass at the climax. Still its entertaining as Jim's most of the movies and audience will get something new to see as Jim's movies r versatile in its own way. I always would like to watch Jim's movies like YES MAN rather than boring sci-fi like THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STEAL and I hope his new movie YES MAN gets good reviews and a very good place at the box-office. His most movies come with a good moral and YES MAN has that too. Well I have been able to capture pics of two scenes with my mobile.I had to do it secretly bcoz I could be arrested for that. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3115/312 ... d813_o.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3261/312 ... bdc3_o.jpg Somebody to luv me(Jim)
I'll be watching the movie tonight. I'll give my thought on it after I watch it. Even though Carreys my favorite actor, I can admit when he has a bad movie--as I wasn't a big fan of some of his recent movies, eg: 23, Dick and Jane. Although Carrey was great in them.
My thought later tonight.
I just saw it! It was amazing! Every bit as good as Liar, Liar and Bruce Almighty! If not better! It started off a little slow, but ended with a bang! I'd recomend it to anyone!
To God, every living being is beautiful... Except for you.
I was pleasantly surprised. There was one scene where me and my brother couldn't stop laughing (the drunk scene). There were a couple corny scenes in the movie which I didn't care for and the ending seemed a bit rushed. But overall a really good comedy/romance. I enjoyed it.
I would say a 3-1/2 to 4 star movie.
I didn't think the ending was rushed. To God, every living being is beautiful... Except for you.
I think ending was rushed too.It could have more stuffs. Though it is really a lovely movie. Somebody to luv me(Jim)
Cool. But I thought the music was one of the best qualities of the movie. Except here, they didn't rate the music of the film very well. I don't understand that at all. To God, every living being is beautiful... Except for you.
A BAD REVIEW... Yes Man (Two Stars) U.S.; Peyton Reed Jim Carrey is the best physical comedian around right now. Has been for a while. So why does he go for a high concept would-be verbal comedy like this -- especially since it’s a malfunctioning concept that in this case doesn’t work right. Has he been led astray? Say “Yes.“ Carrey plays Carl Allen, a lonely withdrawn guy avoiding life and living in video stores, whose pattern changes when a buddy drags him to guru Terrence Bundley’s psycho-babble cult, a self-help con in which you start saying Yes to everything. Neat idea. Unfortunately, Carrey is a banker, a loan guy, which means that he‘s saying “yes” to propositions that would have terrified Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac and that definitely give this movie a weird topicality now. So, is this movie less funny than the current administration? I can think of lots of “No”-proof questions which would have been great setups for Carrey gags and humor. “Why don’t you strike a match on a cake of soap?“ “Why don’t you stick your head up your ass?“ “Why don’t you challenge Sacha Baron Cohen to a nude wrestling match?“ But nobody asked. And the movie lost me when Carrey’s Carl rode with Zooey Deschanel’s Allison on her bike and she asks him if she’s going too fast -- and they didn’t make a routine out of it. (Nor did he say “Yes.”) Seemed an ideal setup for an Abbott and Costello “Who’s on First?“ cross-talk routine, but the writers pass it up. I guess they said “Yes” to too many people. So did Carrey. But are most of you going to watch this movie anyway?
So far on Rottentomatoes (the Critics) : 44 Good, 54 Bad. I think this movie is stuck under 50% and I think it's one of the strangest reviewed movies ever. I've never seen so many opinions based on totally different levels, good or bad.
At IMDB (regular people), the movie scores around 7.2, I think it will go down just a bit more, but then stays around the 7.
