Jim Carrey Taking Part in Daughter's New Album

Often Jim Carrey shows off his singing talent in both his movies and talk show appearances. But now he gets to do something he has not done before, taking part in daughter Jane's new album. This April, he will be in the recording studio doing backup vocals on the Jane Carrey Band's yet-to-be-titled new album. This will be the first time the two have ever work together on a musical project. According to an unknown source, Jim said it has always been his dream of making more music in his career especially when working with his daughter.

If you didn't know, the Jane Carrey Band is a band formed by Jim's daughter Jane (from the actor's first marriage with Melissa Womer that ended in 1995) that first debuted on MySpace. Since then, they had gained a minor cult following.

While there is no known release date at this time, the new album is projected to be released this fall on iTunes and Amazon. There will also be a mini-tour during that time to promote the new album. It's not clear whether or not Jim Carrey will be on the mini-tour though it might affect his schedule on his upcoming film projects if he accepts.

This is great news! I hope I will be able to hear his sweet vocals peak through! The best thing is he'll be singing for real and not being a little silly about it so we can really, truly hear him sing. This is really great. I'm happy about this!

I saw the video the other day with
Jane and the baby and Jim
He started to exercise his voice with
(Alrighty or Almighty) word
not sure which

And the baby spit up, I was laughing because
being a Grandma, that happens alllll the time
especially right after they eat or burp.

A house isn't a home until you have a little bit
of baby spit here and there, if you have a dog
the dog will find it eventually and when you
go to clean it up it just may be gone

Regardless if it was a prank or not,
I think it would be neat to have the two of them
on an album, why not?
I hope it would be fun for them,
years down the road they can say,
"We really actually worked together at one time"
It may be hard if they are alot alike,

but yes, Jim's an amazing singer, pitch perfect so it would be brilliant for him to work with Jane......but it's possible that he wouldn't want his fame to overshadow Janes talent.....

"No thanks, I want to do it myself"

But I hope she gets her dad's opinions
re her music, I think he is pretty smart there
and his 2 cents may be worth something.
She doesn't have to take his advice but
just hear what he has to say.
He has been somewhat successful

I think you're probably right there......Jane wants to do it on her own and prove she can be successful without the usual Hollywood nepotism.......full Kudos to her there...
And as her dad and No1 fan Jim will want to help her....she might not accept the help if she's single minded like her dad, but it's Jim's job as her dad to advise her.....
..One of the things i've always found fascinating and attractive about Jim is his super sharp brain.....He's always one step ahead and his advice would be priceless.....
