I think he did a marvellous work. in this movie he shows he can do drama as well as comedy. i agree with some of you that the scene in the car when he is crying really surprises me.
He is a really great actor!!!!!!

he just seemed more ordinary in ESOSM...........more real somehow and i guess that's what's touched the chord within us..........we feel we can relate to some of the pain.............
And if not the pain then his pain...........we feel we want to share it with Joel and Jim

The character was very deep, and obviously jaded by past experiences.

Joel is a far cry from characters such as Ace Ventura, he's far more reserved, and he seems very much the anti-normal Jim Carrey character if you know what I mean.

The film was obviously a psychological film, and it involved looking into the memories and the thoughts of Joel.

Very intense film

I'd like to say that the film moved me more than any other i've seen...

(except perhaps Lassie, Greyfriars Bobby, the Amazing Journey, the Bear, the Call of the wild etc etc....... )

The most moving film I ever saw was "Sophie's Choice."

But Jim was very good in ESOTSM. <---you know, as long as it takes me to type out all of the right letters in the right order, I should just type out Eternal Sunshine....
