first time i saw Jim was on "Ace Ventura:when nature calls". it was his energy and his great comedian talent that it was unique, these were the elements that made love him! plus that the movie was so funny!

I first saw Jim in the Mask... I liked it, but there were no flames. Years later I saw the Majestic on TV and loved it ... but (this is shameful ) somehow I hadn't paid attention to either the name of the movie or the actor... I believe I was in good company at the time... anyway... Jim had me with Eternal Sunshine... all that sensibility, love, pain, everything that we all go through... I then watched some of his other movies, learned more about him, and here I am today!

The first Jim movie I saw was The Mask, when I was 10, and he instantly became my favorite actor.

My 1st Jim movie was...

Postby Jimlover1 » Thu Mar 16, 2006 12:20 am

Peggy Sue Got Married, when it came
out in the theatres, back in the '80s.
I was in my 20s at the time. :D I may
have seen the Duck Factory when it
was on, as well, but I really dont'
remember. Anyway, I didnt see Jim
again until Ace and the Mask, and I
do remember coming out of the Mask
thinking, "This new guy is really cute!"
I had not seen In Living Color, but he
then became one of my favorite actors 8)
I was about 37. I didnt fall in love with him
until I saw the Truman Show when I was
40, about 3 wks before I turned 41!
I have now been loving him and thinking
about him for 2,830 days now & counting!
To Jim-I love you more than words can say,
my biggest dream in life is to marry you someday.-your future wife, Carol Carrey

ps. or at least a date!

I can't even remember which film I saw him in first. :? He seems to have been around forever and I watched his films thinking he was funny, bit off the scale, but nothing I got totally wowed by.
My intrigue was captured a bit with The Cable Guy (tho it was much later before I really loved it).
I think, pinning it down, I was bowled over by the effect Man On The Moon had on me. I couldn't believe Jim could be that good. That inspired.
When I saw Eternal Sunshine (the greatest film ever) I just thought.....he was, without doubt, a genius.

After that, I go back and watch all the other stuff and think "Yeah, he is good!".
Everybody should believe in something.
I believe I'll have another coffee!

Ace Ventura 1 back when it came out on video. I was a 11 year old kid and I can't recall much about it but I'm sure I laughed a lot!
It didn't hit me until Batman Forever...

I was around 5 or 6 when I saw Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, and I thought Jim was the funniest guy ever. After that I would always walk around the house saying "Alrighty then!". After that, I saw The Mask and then I was really hooked. I used to watch it over, and over, and over again and never got tired of it. Jim was probably the first actor I ever really liked, and he's still my favorite after all these years. :)
