"Mr. Popper's Penguins" debuted in third place

Jim Carrey's new family comedy "Mr. Popper's Penguins" opened in third place with $18.4 million. The PG-rated film averaged $5,524 from 3,339 locations. Females made up 56% of the crowd while 58% was under 25.
