Dumb and Dumber To: So you’re telling us there’s a chance?!
14 Jun 2013

By Jack Bristow (Web correspondent)

When asked in a recent Skype interview with Los Angeles Times reporter Yvonne Villarreal if he thinks "Dumb and Dumber To" will soon see the light of day and commence production Jeff Daniels responded without hesitancy, "I do." He also added, "It’s not my place to say, and it is not [yet] a done deal, but it is close," Daniels assured us. Daniels also mentioned that he is hopeful the movie will begin production later this summer, before his "Newsroom" filming obligations in November.

"Dumb and Dumber" fans were heartbroken earlier this week when it was revealed that Warner Brothers, which is now parent company of New Line Cinema, decided to not fund the long-awaited sequel to the 1994 comedy-classic, "Dumb and Dumber." However, it has since then been revealed that five distributors are already vying for the project, since Warner Brother’s rejection earlier this week. It looks as though production company Red Granite will be first in line to finance the film.

News that Warner Brother’s studios dropped "Dumb and Dumber To" came as a shock to many. For the original "Dumb and Dumber" was created on only 17-million dollars—a very modest budget, especially for the time—and went on to gross $246.2 million domestically and internationally. Its travesty of a prequel, "Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd" was not as well-received, but it did not have the advantage of the same cast and directors.

Stay tuned for more updates of Jim Carrey's upcoming movie.
