07 Sep 2000

Random House got the publishing rights to several tie-ins with "Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas". They range from coloring books, to the movie novelization, to instructions on the care and feeding of a Grinch, to a selection of quotes from the Mean One himself and much more. The books will be available next October and you can find more details on these publications at this page. Take your picks:

The Care and Feeding of a Grinch
Bonnie Worth; illustrated by Christopher Moroney (Trade Paperback)
Description: "Now, for the first time, Max reveals his side of the famous Christmas story, giving readers a rousing, rhyming dog's-eye view of the Grinch and his life on Mount Crumpit."

How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Grinch and Bear It: Life According to the Supreme Green Meanie
Random House (Hardcover)
Description: "Everyone knows how the Grinch stole Christmas, but few really know the Grinch himself. Here, in a collection excerpted from the Universal Studios film adaptation of the classic Dr. Seuss story, are quotes directly from the supreme green meany, as well as from the tamer citizens of Who-ville."

How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Happy Wholiday, Mr. Grinch!
Random House; illustrated by Ted Enik (Trade Paperback)

How the Grinch Got So Grinchy
Bonnie Worth; illustrated by Richard Walz (Hardcover Library Binding)
Description: "Told in simple rhyme and illustrated in the Who-bil-acious style of the blockbuster movie starring Jim Carrey, How the Grinch Got So Grinchy takes readers back to the Grinch's childhood and into his misunderstood fuzzy green soul."

How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
Louise Gikow (Trade Paperback)
Description: "Here is a digest-size novelization of the hip, live-action hit movie of the Dr. Seuss classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, starring the one and only Jim Carrey as the Grinch.
The movie script goes beyond the events of the stolen Christmas, all the way back to the beginning in Who-ville--where the Grinch grew up--and explains how and why he came to hate Christmas so much that, finally, one year, he had to stop it from coming. Told in the first-person voice of the Grinch himself, this is rib-ticklingly funny, irreverent, and ultimately touching.
An eight-page full-color photo insert is included."

How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Movie Storybook
Adapted by Louise Gikow (Hardcover)
Description: "It's told from the point of view of the two slightly batty Old Biddies who lovingly raise the Grinch from the night of his arrival in Who-ville to the day he runs off to live in his cave on Mt. Crumpit. Organized as a photo album cum scrapbook, it tells the whole story of the Grinch's life, through still photos from the movie, extended captions, and running commentary."

How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Ornament Punch & Play Book
Random House (Trade Paperback)
Description: Punch-out book with eight easy-to-assemble Christmas ornaments featuring characters and decorations from the movie.

How the Grinch Stole Hollywood: The Making of the Movie
Andy Lipschultz (Trade Paperback)
