NominationsThe problem with the really big awards like Oscars & Golden Globes is the fact they always nominate the movies that came out the last months of the year. Last year it happened with Road to Perdition, the movie was forgotten by the academy and the globes, so they re-released the movie then. It didn't work...

Maybe there's a chance for Jim Carrey to be nominated for 'best actor in a comedy' for 'Bruce Almighty', because there aren't a lot other comedic movies yet that deserve a nomination. Although, don't forget the category is also Musical, and there are in fact two musicals coming out this fall... also, Matchstick Man is looking great and Nicolas Cage & Sam Rockwell are possible nominees.

Now, 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind', a movie that is going to get nominations, I'm pretty sure... but then there's the fact that it comes out to late for this year and way to early for the next year, so ... that's a prob.

We'll see...

hmI don´t think he will be nominated ..dunno why ..maybe it´s because I think it´s not his best movie.. and not his best performance.. that´s it ..that´s all.. I hope we´ll see him there, though..

Bruce, bruce, bruce...I also think it isn't his best performance, but, it is one of his most acceptable roles for all the people in the world, because it's not a 'faces and weird moves' character. Even people who don't like Carrey movies like Ventura will tolerate the Bruce Nolan Jim is showing here. And that's what counts to get this nomination.

Re: hmnow i am a big fan of Jim Carrey, but there is no way he should be nominated ofr a golden globe for bruce almighty only an MTV award. and knowin how MTV loves to give Carrey awards. i wouldnt be surprised if he wins best comedic performance, best male performance, and best picture.
