My visit to one of world's highest lakes.......

Postby jimlover » Tue Oct 14, 2008 7:19 am

Well I went to the most beautiful Himalayan State of Sikkim of North eastern India for the fifth time and I visited one of world's highest lakes Gurudongmer there. :D  Guru Nanak the inventor of Shikh religion meditated there once thats why it is so famous to Pilgrims and tourists. The place is situated at 18,000 feet and it is very tough to breath bcoz oxygen is very low. But the place is spectacular and there is no place like Gurudongmer lake in the whole world. It is also called cold desert and China is just 2 KM away from this place. This place is bounded by military and army people. Its sad that they dont allow foreign tourists in this border areas. :( I also travlled Yumthang Valley and Rumtek Monestry there. :D

Well, you oughta try and get in contact with that local driver then to see if he's single 'cause you two look great together!  Seriously though - you do! :P

Thanx for sharing these exquisite photos with us - especially the one with the rainbow in the Himalayas! Sooo dreamy!! O:) Not every day you get to see a rainbow among mountains! :D

And finally (as I'm so dog-crazy  ); the photo of the labrador is really sooo CUTE!!! :P
