Jim on "whose Line is it anyway?"

Postby Krystal Carrey » Fri Feb 16, 2001 8:40 am

I was just thinking about how cool it would be to see Jim on "Whose line is it anyway?". Its one of my favourite shows. For those of you who don't know what it is, its a show on ABC hosted by Drew Carrey where comedians come on and play games where they have to make everything up. Its absolutly hillarious. I think Jim would do great on it, of coarse hes probably too busy to go on a show like that. Then again Robin Williams went on it so you never know!
Krystal "the superior, wonderful, charming, gorgeous, princess" Carrey"I am the evil giraff. I think Jim would be hysterical on that show. It would really showcase his improv skills.

I also read today that Jim was invited to host the Grammys next week, but he passed (obviously ).

I thought you were serious!!!

Man, I have always thought Jim should go on there. That'd be awesome... I love Colin and Ryan... I wonder who Jim would wind up kissing? There always seems to be some "gay" thing for the sake of the laugh on that show!

Man oh man, you got my hopes up!!!

Ohwell, that'd be awesome, but you're right, would probably never happen, not yet anyway!

Any anger or negativeness that my previous post was ofcourse playfull... I just wanted to make sure you didn't think I was seriously mad... I was joking. But I was disspointed that it was just a "hey, it'd be cool if.." instead of "it was announced today that Jim Carrey will be on an upcoming Whose Line..."

Anyways, c-ya

Kelly
Imagine all the people
living life in peace
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you will join us
And the world will be one
~*~John Lennon~*~

I always thought Jim would be great on that show. Just by watching him on talk shows you can tell he's naturally funny and can come up with stuff on the spot.

Unfortunately, Jim may never have the chance to be on the show if it continues its current pace. For fans of "Whose Line?" I have some bad news...

"Whose Line Is It Anyway?" is not on ABC's 2003-2004 primetime schedule and is on the verge of being cancelled. Contrary to many reports, the show has not been officially cancelled, but at the same time doesn't have a bright future ahead. ABC has said that there are still about 22 unaired episodes left in the can that were filmed in November 2001, but there is no information on if these will ever air or if new episodes will ever be taped again. The funniest show to ever hit the tubes needs the help of its fans now more than ever.

Save "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" is a website I created in July 2003 for the sole purpose of rallying fans of the U.S. version of the popular improv show. Our goal is simple: Get "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" back on regular programming. For the past three months, SWL has made strong efforts to save the show with email & postcard campaigns that fans can easily participate in. Recently, ABC acknowledged SWL's efforts! This is a big step in our campaign, showing that our voices are finally being heard.

In response to ABC's acknowledgement and the rising popularity of our site, Save "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" has relaunched the entire package! The site has a completely different design and has a brand new flash movie introduction with photo and sound effects. On the campaign front, the email campaign has been revised, the postcard campaign has been expanded, and an entire new campaign has been added. Now you can get tips and information on how to write letters to ABC, as well as the show's production company.

As far as the status of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?", we have gotten numerous updates since our site's creation. In mid-July, Drew Carrey expressed his uncertainty of the show's future. "You got me," he said. "I have no idea. You're asking the wrong guy. I'm only the talent." Also in mid-July, ABC addressed the subject and one spokesperson said they have "enough (episodes) for the coming season." As for making new ones, they said, "We haven't discussed it yet." In late-July, Greg Proops even went as far as saying he believed "Whose Line?" has been cancelled, but that fans shouldn't take it lying down. He encourages us to let ABC know we want the show back on TV and said, "The future is in your hands." Jumping ahead to early October, ABC has reportedly been replying to selected emails and letters telling fans that "Whose Line?" is only on hiatus. However, this has been their excuse for the past six months and they have to show any proof that it will return.

No matter what any future reports say, Save "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" will continue its campaigns until the show has returned to regular programming and has been given a fair chance at regaining the success it enjoyed when it was on the air. If you have a WLiiA website, board, list, or friends/family who like the show, please let as many people as possible know about the show's uncertainty and our efforts to save it. There have been so many laughs over the last five years that it would be hard to lose "Whose Line?" forever. Like Greg Proops said, "The future is in your hands," so don't quit just before the miracle.

Visit the NEW Save "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" at www.geocities.com/save_whose_line

whose line...

Postby uhh i dunno » Thu Nov 06, 2003 10:59 pm

first off, i think the show is hilarious... theres some things i like and some things i dont.... so here goes

starting with comparing some things to the old shows with clive anderson.... i liked that show a little more because of the variety of people on there... people like paul murton, steve frost, tony slattery, rory bremner, eddie izzard (funny guy), neil ashdown, mike mcshane, josie lawrence (would go well as a singing partner to wayne i think), steve stien, and another guy i cant think of his name... are funny as hell... and i think to have 3 set people on a show like this as ABC does... ryan, colin, and wayne.. wont work with a show like this... at least not prolonged.... i liked the variety of people with the old shows... nothing against the 3 of them though... ryan and colin have great chemistry and have combined to make some of the funniest bits ive ever seen on the show... wayne is great with singing and rapping and stuff... but there should be more of a variety of people on the show cuz while those 3 have lots of talent and are funny, it makes the show predictable in that sense... before it even comes on, everyone knows whos gonna be on the show... i for one am tired of the same people... there *needs* to be more of a variety of people...

second, i think ABC holds the show back by making it a 'family' show.... the excessive censorship of the show makes it frustrating to watch because in many cases, the actors arent able to say what they want to... cant make fun of hitler, cant say masturbate, cant say much of anything outragious... i think it should be aimed at an adult audience as that would make the show better as well... but i definately believe ABC holds it back by how it chooses to respresent it and who its directed to... i mean come on... it shows at 10pm... yet its a family show... most kids are in bed by then anyways... if abc is gonna keep the show, they need to let them say more or it should be picked up by another channel that will... cuz its another thing thats dragging the show down... let em cuss a little... put the show on FX they'll let them...

also... the older shows had slightly more variety with the games.... they'd throw in different things here and there... but its the same on the new shows mostly... theres a few new things, but not too many... the new shows did away with games like "worlds worst" ... and i really liked that one....

to sum it all up... i dont think the problem is whose line... the problem is ABC... all in all, i liked the older version of the show better... i think clive anderson was a better host... drew is too sensitive at times... clive and greg for example would always just chit chat and take shots at each other... that made the show better too... if someone does that with drew, hes apologizing 5 minutes later.... clive had a better sense of humor i think than drew does... not to say drew isnt funny... but yeah... i hope the show stays around... i just hope its not on ABC and i think maybe a new host... they really should get clive back... he interacted with the crowd more as well and i just think he has a better personality for a show like this..... but more importantly, it needs to be on another station.... not ABC and definately directed at an adult audience... not "family"... bleh...
