for a long time now, im sure alot of you have heard that they are making a prequel to one of Jim Carreys best movies of all time, DUMB AND DUMBER... sounds like a sweet deal, right? Of course it does, I mean.. Daniels and Carrey (one of the best on-screen duos of all time) reunited for a prequel.. ohhh yeah.. except its lacking the two most important things... Jim Carrey AND JEFF DANIELS... instead they got this amatuer, Derek RIchardson to play Llyod Christmas... and some other idiot (i forgot who) for Harry... I mean, come on! Carrey and Daniels made that movie what it is! Without them, you're left with two really moronic guys... instead of two hilariously moronic guys.... i dont want to get on an angry rant here, so im just gonna say this... Derek Richardson has sure got his work cut out for him.... His work will be compared to Jims, after all... <p></p><i></i>

I totally agree! This movie without Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels is a joke! I proabably won't even bother watching it. Its the dumbest idea that movie makers have ever come up with. Dumb and Dumber is a classic comedy, possibly the best, and they are putting these idiot rookies that don't look like them whatsoever. this movie should be put to rest...the original Dumb and Dumber is still talked about today, why make people think of it as a fluke after this movie comes out? There should only be that one Dumb and Dumber movie to keep it the legendary movie that it is. <p></p><i></i>

I agree too. When i heard a long time ago that they were coming at with a prequel, (which by the way is funny) I thought It'd star Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels, because Dumb and Dumber is definitely the funniest movie I've ever seen. But when i heard it wasnt going to be them, I knew it would probly suck. But I'm going to go see it anyway. Sometimes sequels (or prequels in this case) ruin movies or else theyre better than the first. Anyone who rips off another movie like dumb and dumber is not worth watching. Dumb and dumber 2 is not worth watching, this is a travesty what new line movies has done. It's all about $$$$$. I am disgusted they would make a sequel without Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels. It's like if they had all different actors for Back to the Future or Indiana Jones, these are classic movies that CAN'T get away with trying to replace the actors who made their characters famous! How can you be a Jim Carrey fan and sit through Dumb and Dumber 2 without getting disgusted? <p></p><i></i>

If you have been watching all of the Jim Carrey interviews for Bruce Almighty, you would've seen on one of the interview shows *don't ask which one, I don't remember* that the interviewer asked him what he thought about the prequel. He said that he wished them luck with it and even made the comment that the guy playing Lloyd even looks like him. And then he turned around and said that he thought you weren't supposed to plagiarise until the original writers were dead. So don't get mad about the prequel. First of all, I agree with almost everyone on here. No other actors can compare with Jim or Jeff. It would take a couple years of experience to contort your face the way he does, and Jim does it naturally..THAT'S what makes him so funny. The guy who plays him in this movie is cool and all and I give him LOTS of credit for doing this, but it's a tough part. The guy who plays Jeff on the other hand, well, he literally looks like Jeff Daniels in the face, especially with the hair and all, if you look at that poster from a distance. But, like i said before, the prequal cant compare to the actual movie that we know. I care B.C.! The theater I went to there was a lot of groaning. Bad idea to make this film. All there interested in is the $, but from the reactions I've seen and heard It's not going to make much money. I also was in shock.
