Jim is now a US Citizen! Congrats to our man Jimmy!Earlier this month (on the 8th, my birthday, actually) someone posted on the Movieline board that Jim Carrey passed his citizenship test sometime back in June. A nuber of the replys to that of course are congrats, as well as "I didn't know he wasn't American!" I didn't know that either five years ago when I fell head-over-heels in love with him. In fact I didn't know anything about him at all, except that I liked his movies. I didn't know he was married, and divorced, twice, I din't know he had a daughter, nothing. But then I thought he would automatically become a US citizen when he married his first wife, Melissa. or is that just in the movies? The future Mrs. Jim Carrey, Carol Carrey

Re: Jim is now a US Citizen! Congrats to our man Jimmy! You didn't know he wasn't American? He is Canadian, which is a LOT better! I'm a big fan of all things Canadian... I even support the Toronto Maple Leafs, and have an official jersey... and I'm English! I also listen to music from there, that we don't have over here! I'm moving over there in the future!!!

Dude, you are well over obsessed with him aren't you? Sometimes your posts are a lil bit over the top for my reading, considering I'm only 16!

Jennaxx
It's better to go after something special and risk starving to death than to surrender, if you give up your dreams, what's left?- Jim Carrey.

"It's all fake. Re: Jim is now a US Citizen! Congrats to our man Jimmy!Yeah for Jim! I'm sure the test was a piece of cake for that smart guy.

ReTwo of my Canadian friends got sad because of it. Why did he do it, or was it necessary? I don't understand.

Re: ReHe has duel citizenship. He is both a Canadian and an American. He loves Canada, he grew up there, so it is home.
America has been good to him so that's why he became an American citizen, also. At least that's what I read in an article with him.

Re: ReI'm (French) Canadian and I've always been glad Jim was also from here.... but he's been living in the US for more than half his life now so I guess it's a good thing to get a citizenship... He keeps saying how much he still loves Canada so it's fine by me! He also loves Montreal, that's where I live now, alright!
A n d r e a
