Jim Carrey with Ruby Wax

Postby Phil » Thu Jul 31, 2003 3:34 pm

Did anyone else think that Ruby Wax completely messed up the interview with Jim Carrey at the Dorchester in London? She didn't ask him anythimg! She's so obsessed with Sex and crawling around on the floor mouthing off that it's pathetic. He saw right through her from a few minutes into the interview which is why he stopped caring and just trashed the hotelroom which was hilarious because Ruby wasn;t in control and that annoyed her so! He's a really clever guy and can outwit her in a second which showed and she didn't like it.

I Totally disagree. What do you want then? A standard interview with the same dull boring overdone questions over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and (get my point here?) over and over and over *grin* Over and over and over again?
They just had Pure Comedic fun. My interpertations are totally different from yours. Jim didn't seem annoyed at all. Ruby didn't seem annoyed at all. (she was even encouraging).

cableclair

www.soiledmypants.com<-- my site
Failure isn't failure unless you give up...

Oh dear

Postby Phil » Fri Aug 01, 2003 11:52 pm

Oh dear how can you even see that as an interview??? She wasn't interested in anything but showing that she could get on with Jim Carrey, and yes I do want something else than the interviewer wanting to talk more than the interviewee...gosh. I have a friend who works for the BBC and at an the aftershow party in London she was standing next to him when he was telling someone how pathetic that interview had been and how he didn't really know who she was. This was clear to everyone I know who saw the interview. But I guess it was enlightning and uplifting for people like yourself, which in that case is good.

Hmm I have to agree with you I don't like pretentious backtalking no matter who does it.

But I think getting the opinion you have helps when you already don't like Ruby Wax in the first place...

Sorry it was dissapointing for you, I've had a good time watching it. :-D.
cableclair

www.soiledmypants.com<-- my site
Failure isn't failure unless you give up...

Oh no I really usually enjoy Ruby's interviews, her interview with Pam Andersson and Goldie Hawn and recently with Liza Minelli and David Gest were all brilliant. But this last one really really made me dissapointed.

I'm so glad i'm not the only one who hates Ruby Wax, I hate the way she's so self obsessed, and thinks she's so funny. I've never seen an interview where she didn't end up talking about her own mother, and Jim made me laugh, as he obviously new this, since he made her get it out of the way in the first 5 minutes.
someone said they thought the interview was different to all the others, how? she asked about the green rug incident, his first gig in a comedy club and his mom and dad, they were asking him about this when dumb n dumber came out

There seems to be a pattern of questions they ask him, no matter who's giving the interview. And quite frankly i'm bored with them, he's been telling us the same stuff about himself for nearly ten years, he never talks about his divorce or anything.
At least this interview was quite long, so he gave more in depth answers, but frankly I thought Richard and Judy handled him better, and that IS sad!

Ruby Wax

But everyone knows about the green rug, and how he bombed on his first gig, that is boring, it's what they ALL ask him, i've followed Jim Carrey interviews for years, honestly, thats what they always ask him about. I'm from England, and the Richard and Judy, and the Ruby Wax and the Johnathon Ross, are the only interviews he's done for British telly in years, I think that its sad that the longest one had be with her, that's all. I laughed at Jim, it's Ruby Wax who gets on my nerves. I can't believe the high profile celebrities she gets acess too. The Johnathon Ross one was funnier.

Hate her

Thank you thank you so glad you agree. I think the people who liked this interview don't understand that Jim doesn't need someone to @#%$ around and "try" to be crazy around him for him to be funny. In the Jonathan Ross Show he was HILARIOUS, he thrives in places when people give him room to be funny. Ruby tried so hard to be in the limelight herself that the whole thing was just a sad state of affairs to watch.

Sorry I'm late on this topic but I'm new to this page. I felt embarrassed for Jim when Ruby kept on about his sex life. Jim was the complete gentleman though. I wish he'd go on 'Parkinson'(a very long running Brit chat show)and stir things up abit.
