lol............none!!..........by the time i was there...91/92 it was virtually comdemned but we went to dundee uni's union a lot.......it was like something out of a 1970's movie........lol....plastic cups and sticky carpets........lol........but i also slummed it in St Andrews uni a lot too.......lol.........what a difference...........lol.......
i recall a bar called Laings or langhans??........and a pub named after some old drunk further up the road............lol

I was there 90-94. Hey, maybe I met you.

I remember Laings. My Landlady owns that place (the Pizza Hut flat landlady). I did go in there a few time. A cool place. I loved the uni students union tho. Tav's Bar and the Thompson Room. Many a happy evening...... *sigh*

Erm.......no. Sorry.

Did Edinburgh, St Andrews, Glasgow, Stirling, Broughty Ferry, etcv...etc....

I had friends from Aberdeen, but despite promising a visit, I never made it.

I must admit, in my time there, I was made to feel uncomfortable being English sometimes, but I always used my charm and ended up feeling completely at ease in Scotland. A fantastic place. I'd have stayed if I wasn't obliged to leave in the end,
But of course, I am loyally English if you make me call...... :wink:

i did Edinburgh unions ...........one burned down i recall.........and there was a great ice cream parlour in Broughty...........

You mentioned this before didn't you? I'm afraid I don't.

It's perhaps a little embarrassing that my main memories of the Ferry are doing a pub crawl round the centre and attempting to walk back back to Dundee on a cooolllldddddd night woth a bunch of friends.

I always knew the Scots had a grudge against the English, but on a personal level I never felt it. Everyone was always lovely to me. In fact, I would dare to say it was a little hypocritical, because they used to say "you're from the north of England so you're OK!".

I love you Scots though. You're the best. Even if you are suspicious of me.

I know I'm not living with you north of the border but I agree with voting against devolution. I voted against the devolution of the north east and getting their own assembly.
We are the British Isles. Not a bunch of self centred regions.
